Lillian Trantham

Clyde, Lillian Ledford Trantham, age 99, of Liner Creek Road, peacefully joined her Heavenly Father on Monday, March 2, 2015 at the Brian Center. A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Newton and Inez Duckett Ledford. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Horace Trantham; a daughter, June Winchester; sons, Billy and Kenneth Trantham; grandchildren, Debra Evans and Allen Kirkpatrick: four sisters, Faye Teaster, Isabelle Giusta, Lois Morris and Lucille Colman; two brothers, Reeves and Woodfin Ledford. She was a member of Belmont Baptist Church, who loved reading her Bible many times over and always prayed for the well-being of her family. Her sense of humor and imagination for practical jokes was unmatched, and she also enjoyed listening to music, but her favorite thing to do was to sit on the back porch swinging with her beloved dog, Otis, who misses her every day. Lillian was a very special lady, who was very loving and caring and will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Lillian is survived by seven children, Patsy Best, Lorene Kirkpatrick, Paulene Massie, Annie Mae Hodge, Isabelle Trantham, Blanche Evans and Johnny Trantham and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 4, 2015 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend John Parris and Reverend Hugh Russell officiating. Burial will follow at Fines Creek Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Jeff Best, Tony McClure, Charles Teaster and Brian Teaster. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:30 prior to the services at the funeral home.
