Canton- Lillie Parks Haney - age 95 died Saturday, September 09, 2006 at Silver Bluff Nursing Home. She was a native of Madison County but had lived most of her life in Haywood County. She was a daughter of the late Leonard and Sally Wilson Parks and was preceded in death by her husband, Amos L. Haney, who died in 1993. Mrs. Haney was also preceded in death by four brothers, Arvil Allen, Bill, Lee and Nelson Parks; three sisters, Annie Rogers, Elsie Collins and Pansy Kiser and an infant son, Charles A. Haney. She was employed by Champion International Papers for 26 years and attended Springhill Baptist Church. Mrs. Haney was an avid gardener and loved working with her flowers and quilts. She was loved and respected by her family and friends and will be greatly missed. She is survived by two daughters, Hilda Hollingsworth, and her husband, Mark, of Waynesville and Doris Chambers, and her husband O.C., of Canton. She is also survived by three sons, Carroll D. Haney and his wife, Joyce, of Canton, Gerald G. Haney and his wife, Trixie, of Candler, and Harry Neal Haney and his wife, Cheryl, of Bryson City; eleven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 12, 2006 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Dr. Roy Kilby officiating. Burial will follow in Bethel Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Tim Hollingsworth, Roger Chambers, Kevin, Greg, Jeff and Weaver Haney.
