Lillie Paxton

Franklin, NC- Lillie Mae Blankenship Paxton, age 87, passed away on Friday, December 31, 2010 at Traces of Tiger in Georgia. A native of Swain County, she was the daughter of the late Dallas and Mary Ella Stiles Blankenship. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy "Dude" Paxton, who died in February of 1986; two brothers and three sisters. Lillie Mae was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Canton. She is survived by a daughter, Sandra Smathers and her husband, Noland of Franklin, NC; sister, Kathleen Sanford of Canton; two granddaughters, Cynthia Dendy of Clayton, Georgia and Jennifer Smathers of Otto, NC; and two twin great-grandsons, Aiden and Blaine Dendy of Clayton, Georgia. Graveside services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at Crawford/Ray Memorial Gardens with the Reverend Dr. Robert Brown officiating.
