LILLIE STOCKTON
Canton-Lillie Parker Stockton, age 98, formerly of the "Beaverdam" community, died Wednesday, September 11, 2002, at Silver Bluff Nursing Facility.
She was a native of Macon County and was the daughter of the late Booth and Parthina Houston Parker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dan Stockton, who died in 1982, and one son, Lester Stockton, who died in 2001. She was a homemaker and a member of Beaverdam Baptist Church.
She is survived by one son, Lethel B. Stockton and his wife, Opal of Canton; two brothers, Victor Parker and John Parker both of Canton; one half-brother, Wilburn Parker of Waynesville; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 13, 2002 at the Beaverdam Baptist Church with the Reverends Gene Worley, Jack Scott, and T. M. Gibson officiating. Burial will follow at Beaverdam Baptist Church Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be the great-grandsons. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 12, 2002 at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Homes.
