Linda Browning

Linda Gail Burke Browning, age 51, passed away on Thursday, October 21, 2010, at John F. Keever, Jr., Solace Center with her son, mother, and father by her side. A native of Palatka, FL, she is the daughter of Melvin and Shirley Jackson Burke of Sorrells Creek and Palatka, FL. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Rachel Lynn Browning. She attended Mt. Zion Baptist Church and Southside Baptist Church in Palatak, FL. Linda was a very intelligent woman who loved to read and work crossword puzzles. She also enjoyed cooking and canning as well as crocheting. In addition to her parents, she is survived by a son, Clint Browning of Bethel; Clint's father, Michael Browning of Bethel; two sisters, Nancy Burke and Paula Middleton and her husband, Wayne, all of Keyston Heights, FL; two brothers, Melvin "Buddy" Burke and his wife, Lisa, of Charlotte, MI and Charles Lewis Burke of Palatka, FL; a sister-in-law Donna Browning of Charlotte, NC; her mother and father-in-law; Joann and Bruce Browning; three aunts and uncles, Charlotte and Raymond Burke, Joe and Bonnie Burke, and Audrey Allison; three great-aunts; Virginia Harbin, Betty Robinson and Georgia Methvin Harbin; nieces, Lindsey (Aashton) Hodge, Erin Viraldo, Ashley Gaskin, Meagan (Dean) Giddons, Stacy Middleton, McKenzie Burke; nephews, Wayne Paul (Sara) Middleton, Shea Middleton, James and Jacob Burke all of Palatka, FL, Cody Burke of MI, Dustin Harper and great nieces Hannah, Jordan Hodge; and great nephews, Joshua Henry and Aashton Hodge; and a special cousin born the same night, Ricky Bagley. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 23, 2010, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with the Reverend Dr. Perry Brindley officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be made to one's favorite charity.
