LINDA D. BURRIS

Waynesville-Linda Davis Burris, age 60, of Hickory Hollow Apartments, died, Sunday, December 14, 2003 at Haywood Regional Medical Center.

She was a native of Gastonia and was the daughter of the late Huezel and Alma Nelson Davis. She was a beautician with Backstreet Hair Studio and was a member of Allen's Creek Baptist Church.

Surviving are, a daughter Angie Penley and her husband Michael of Waynesville, a son Dale Burris and his wife, Michele of Waynesville, two sisters, Jeanette Hyatt of Asheville and Shelia Adams of the Willett's Community and two brothers, Jim Nelson of Waynesville and Johnny Davis of Georgia and two grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 17th in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Homes with the Reverend Phillip Wyatt officiating. A visitation will be held immediately following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Penley/Burris Scholarship Fund C/O Wachovia Bank 339 Russ Avenue in Waynesville, NC 28786.
