Canton - Linda Wansker "Lynn" Hull, age 73, passed away on Thursday, July 8, 2010, at her home, 14 Mann Drive. She was born on June 4, 1937 in Newton, MA and was the daughter of the late Adm. Harry Wansker and Mrs. Verda Spear Wansker of Sarasota, FL. Mrs. Hull was a graduate of the University of Vermont where she was a member of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority. Her extremely varied career included stints as a surgical nurse, travel guide writer, advertising copywriter, and associate professor of English at Northern Virginia Community College in Fairfax, VA, as well as a custom jewelry designer. In later years, she continued to expand her artistic abilities becoming an internationally acclaimed artist, having her art purchased across the U.S. as wells as Canada, Mexico, and Russia. Mrs. Hull was a lifelong animal lover and advocate of animal rights. The Hulls retired to Canton in 2002, where they attended Beaverdam United Methodist Church. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Paul R. Hull, as well as numerous cousins and many close friends. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at Beaverdam United Methodist Church with Pastor Naomi King and the Reverend Bill Cranfield officiating. Wells Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Canton is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Asheville Humane Society, 55 Shiloh Road, Suite 6, Asheville, NC 28803 or to one's own favorite charity.
