Linda Hyatt

Waynesville, Linda Gail Allen Hyatt, age 67, of 36 Estes Drive, passed away on Friday, June 19, 2009 at her residence. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late William Lucius "Tud" and Helena Pearl Hyatt Allen. She retired from Dayco after 21 years employment and then went on to teach tractor and trailer truck-driving school at Cecils Jr. College. She and Carroll drove tractor and trailer trucks together for 20 years. She retired from Central Transport Trucking and later retired from Wal-mart in Sylva. Linda played the organ for Allens Creek Baptist Church for many years, of which she was a member. She was a dedicated wife and loving mother to her family and enjoyed spending lots of time with her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Joseph Carroll Hyatt, Sr.; three children Michael Hyatt and his wife, Libby, Joseph Carroll Hyatt, Jr. and his wife, Kim, and Cheryl Hyatt, all of Waynesville; one sister, Tyree Robinson and her husband, Buddy, of Denver, NC; one brother, Rufus Allen and his wife, Mary, of Asheville; five grandchildren, Michael Allen Hyatt, Jr., Heather Hyatt, Jacob Hyatt, Zachary Lee Haynes, and Joshua Allen Haynes; two great grandchildren, Bella and Zane Hyatt; and several nieces, nephews, and a host of special friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, June 22, 2009 at Allens Creek Baptist Church with Reverend Eddie Deitz and Reverend Randy Hyatt officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Tommy Ray, Alvin Cutshaw, Bill Laney, Steven Hyatt, Michael Beasley, Kenny Head, Larry Sharp, and Kenny Buchanan. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. on Sunday at Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville.
