Linda Jimison Patton, 55, of 337 Wrightsville Road died Wednesday, June 18, 2003 at Mountain Area Hospice Solace Center in Asheville.
She was a lifelong resident of Haywood County and was the daughter of Tom W. Jimison of Canton and the late Frances Jimison and was also preceded in death by a daughter, Sara Venita Patton who died in 1982. She was employed as a drug clerk by Martin's Drug Store and she was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. She had a passion for cake decorating, crafts, animals and time spent at the lake home.
She is survived by her husband of thirty seven years, Jack Patton, Jr., a daughter, Amy Marie Patton, and a son, Aaron Caleb Patton both of Canton, a sister, Kathy J. Cody of Clyde, three brothers, Mike Jimison of Kings Mountain, Don Jimison of Canton and Dewayne Jimison of Charlotte and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, June 21st in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Homes with Reverend Bruce Cayton, Reverend Steve Miller and Mark Golden officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home and at other times will be at the home.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorials be made to: The American Cancer Society, Ovarian Cancer Research at 90 Stiles Road in Canton, NC 28716 or to Mountain Area Hospice Solace at P. O. Box 16 in Asheville, NC 28802.
