Linda Presnell

Waynesville, Linda Gail Clark Presnell, age 75, passed away on Thursday, November 24, 2016 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Ercel "Bunk" and Kathryn Drake Clark. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Charles Presnell, who died in 1994; and a brother, Bruce Clark. Linda had a passion and love for children. For nearly 40 years she worked in the child development field, beginning at Southwestern Early Childhood Development and ending her career at Haywood Community College. She was an avid reader of mystery novels and never missed an opportunity to cheer on her Braves and her favorite Nascar drivers. Linda was a generous and caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She will be greatly missed. Linda is survived by two sons, Bret Presnell, and his wife, Michelle, and Tony Presnell, both of Waynesville; two sisters, Peggy Denton, of Canton and Freda Lindsey, and her husband, Bob, of Burton, Michigan; five grandchildren, Savannah, Jonah and Hayden Presnell, Kaleb and Kodey Gulley; two great-grandchildren, Jayce Gulley and James Bellows. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 28, 2016 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Dr. Gary Hearon and Reverend Amy White Forga officiating. Burial will follow at Crawford-Ray Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Haywood County Public Library, 678 Haywood Street, Waynesville, NC 28786.
