Linda A. White

Linda A. White, 74, of Clyde, passed away on Saturday, July 27, 2024 at Haywood Regional Medical Center.

 A native of Cherokee County, she was the daughter of the late Enoch N. and Mae (Stiles) Allen of Murphy. She was married to James T. White on October 10, 2005. He preceded her in death on January 22, 2019.

Linda graduated from Young Harris College with an associate degree in Business in 1969 and was an honor graduate of Montreat College in 1996 where she received a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. She was employed by the Baptist Children’s Home of NC, Inc. a total of 23 years. She was a faithful member of Calvary Road Baptist Church.

Surviving are her son, Rev. Allen Scroggs (Melissa), one granddaughter, Gracie Scroggs, of Canton, GA; a chosen daughter, Linda Rivenbark (Don), two grandsons, Britt Rivenbark, Rylan Rivenbark (Alley); sisters, Jane Barnett of Acworth, GA; Eula Moore (Wendell) of Hayesville; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Helen Taylor and Monteen Wilson of Candler, Geraldine Sanders of Columbia, TN. and Shirley Griffith of Murphy.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm on Wednesday, July 31, 2024 at Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Rev. John Swanger and Rev. Allen Scroggs officiating. Interment will follow at Crawford-Ray Memorial Gardens in Clyde. The family will receive friends from 12:30pm to 2:00pm prior to the services. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Calvary Road Baptist Church Building Fund, 2701 Soco Road, Maggie Valley, NC 28751.
