Lindsay Byers Wertz

Waynesville, Lindsay Byers Wertz, age 38, passed away Saturday, June 1, 2024, at her home.   She was a native of Spartanburg County, SC.

Lindsay is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents Joe and Marie Byers; maternal grandfather Dan T. McCracken and her cat Samwise. 

Lindsay was an artistic and creative person.  She made jewelry and custom shadow boxes, enjoyed skiing, sports, camping, hiking and playing the guitar.  She helped with the care of her Nana and her grandfather Big Joe.  She had a zest for life and for family.  She was an avid Georgia Bulldog Football and North Carolina Tarheel Basketball fan.

Lindsay leaves behind her son who was her heart and soul, Andrew Joseph Wertz, her mother, Cindy McCracken Byers (Darrell Fowler); father, Joe Byers (Linda); a brother, Eli Byers (Jordan).  She also leaves behind her grandmother, Judy Abbott McCracken, two aunts, Tracey McCracken Palmer (Kim), Marinda Byers Green, along with numerous cousins.

A casual gathering of friends and family will be held from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 15, 2024, at Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville.
