Liz Mintz

Waynesville, Elizabeth Ann Henson Mintz, age 59, went to meet her Heavenly Father on Friday, September 23, 2011 after a long illness. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late James Luther Henson, Sr. and Emma Justice Henson and was also preceded in death by a sister, Lucille Henson Conard. She was a CNA employed at Silver Bluff Nursing Home. Liz was a member of Full Gospel Christian Fellowship Church where she will be greatly missed by her church family whom she loved dearly. She is survived by her son, "the love of her life", Brian David Henson and his wife, Andrea of Boise, Idaho; five sisters, Stella Corbin of Tony, Alabama, Dorothy Mercer (Willie) of Clyde, Jo Ann Maddox (Royce) of Ardmore, Alabama, Barbara McFalls (Steve) of Waynesville, and Brenda Chavez (Tony) of Hendersonville; six brothers, James L. Henson Jr. (Lynda) of Hazel Green, Alabama, William David Henson (Jeanne) of Forest City, North Carolina, Robert L. Henson of Waynesville, Jerry Henson of the Cruso Community, Edward Henson (Noemi) of Woodbridge, Virginia, Billy Henson (Sandy) of Waynesville; one grandson, "her shining light," Aden Henson; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, and a host of special friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, September 26, 2011 at Full Gospel Christian Fellowship Church with Reverend Neal Roland officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Sunday at Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville and at other times at Liz's residence, 1130 Allens Creek Road, Waynesville.
