Llewellyn Coe

February 2, 1922 — March 24, 2010

Waynesville, Llewellyn Ballard Coe, age 88, passed away on Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at Silver Bluff Nursing Home. A native of Dade County, Florida she resided in Jacksonville, Florida before moving to Western North Carolina in 1970. She was the daughter of the late Waters Asbury and Gertrude McGee Ballard. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her first husband, James Lucas; a sister, Kaye B. Pittard; and one brother, Warren McGee Ballard. She was a supervisor/trainer for Bellsouth Corporation where she retired after 40 years employment and was a lifelong member of the AT&T Telecomm Pioneers Club. Llewellyn was very intelligent and especially enjoyed traveling all around the world. Her favorite passion was gardening which she truly enjoyed and was an active member of the Christian Science Church of Waynesville until it's closing. She is survived by her husband of 26 years, James Coe; one nephew, Jon A. Pittard and his wife, Barbara, of Sunset, South Carolina; a niece, Sherry Reisinger of Tallahassee, Florida; and five great nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until Noon on Saturday, March 27, 2010 at Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association Research Foundation, 1236 Ginger Crescent, Virginia Beach, VA 23453.
