Lloyd Kolsrud

Waynesville-Lloyd R. Kolsrud, age 86, of 337 Walnut Ford, died Friday, May 13, 2005 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. He was a native of Allamakee County, Iowa and had resided in Muscatine, Iowa. He had been a resident of Haywood County for the past three years. He was the son of the late Ben H. and Hulda Hunstad Kolsrud. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Caryl Hager and Lila Kowalishen; one brother John H. Kolsrud; and two nephews. He was a US Army veteran of World War II where he served as a medic. He was employed for 37 years as Clerk of Court for Allamakee County, Iowa and served as Court Administrator for five years before his retirement in 1982. He was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Clyde. He loved his family very much and enjoyed Genealogy, fishing, and watching Iowa Hawkeye athletics. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Hazel Quanrude Kolsrud; one daughter, Kaye L. Sebastyn and her husband, William, of Waynesville; one son, Barry O. Kolsrud and his wife, Connie, of Iowa City, Iowa; one sister, Jean L. Wiedenmann and her husband, Charles, of Monona, Iowa; one brother, Bernard H. Kolsrud and his wife, Lorna, of Waukon, Iowa; one grandchild Finn Kolsrud; several nieces and nephews; and two sister-in-laws. Services will be held at a later date in Iowa. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Haywood Regional Medical Center Hospice, 560 Leroy George Drive, Clyde, NC 28721; Our Savior Lutheran Building Fund, 785 Paragon Parkway, Clyde, NC 28721; St. John's Lutheran Church Organ Fund in Waukon, Iowa; or Oakland Cemetery fund in Waukon, Iowa.
