Lake Junaluska, Lloyd H. Stevenson, of 259 Castle Creek Drive, died on his birthday, Sunday, April 26 at his residence. He was the son of the late Harley and Argyle Stevenson and was also preceded in death by a brother, Clyde Stevenson and a sister, Clara Yost. He was a member of Clyde First Baptist Church and a graduate of Waynesville Township High School. Lloyd was employed in the Maintenance Department of Dayco-Mark IV having retired in 1985. He served in the Air Force during World War II and was a Prisoner of War. Lloyd truly loved nature, was an avid fisherman, and the joy of his life was to get a good catch. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Bobbie Hogan Stevenson; a son, Timothy Stevenson, of Waynesville; one sister, Hilda Hannah, of Clyde; two brothers, Cecil Stevenson of Clyde and Wayne Stevenson of Hiawasee, GA; two nephews; and seven nieces. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Dr. David Phillips, officiating. Burial will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12 Noon until 1:45 p.m. at the funeral home, and at other times, will be at the residence.
