Lois Coker

April 18, 1918 — November 13, 2005

Canton - Lois McDaniel Coker, age 87, of Acorn Drive died Sunday, November 13, 2005 at her residence. She was a native of Modoc, SC and the daughter of the late Nuell and Fannie Mae Reese McDaniel. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Pearle Coker who died November 13, 1988 and four brothers, Ben, Otis, Charlie and Hamp McDaniel. She was co-owner and operator of Coker Heating and Air Conditioning with her husband, Bill Coker. She is survived by a daughter, JoAnn Coker Wight of Asheville; a brother, Joe McDaniel of Clinton, SC; two grandchildren, Christopher Wight and his wife, Alice of Asheville and Phillip Coker Wight and his wife, Tammy of Maggie Valley; a great granddaughter, Tricia Ann Pearle Wight of Maggie Valley and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 16, 2005 at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Homes with the Reverend Dr. Jack B. Sammons officiating. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Mausoleum in Enka. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Haywood Regional Medical Center Hospice, 560 Leroy George Drive, Clyde, NC 28721.
