Lois Parrish

Lois Orgastine Thompson Parrish- age 88 of 87 Prospect Street, died Friday, January 19, 2007 at Canton Christian Convalescent Center. She was born February 26, 1918 in Haywood County to the late Hezekiah and Mae Underwood Thompson. Lois' mother died when she was eighteen months old and was raised by her Dad and her late grandmother, Anna Bell Payne. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, where she joined at an early age. Lois was employed by the Dr. A.P. Cline, Sr. family for over forty-two years, and after retiring she worked as a foster grandparent. She was married to the late Edward Parrish for thirty-two years before his death in 1975. Left to cherish heart felt memories are a son, Terry Edward Parrish, Sr. and his wife, Aundra, of Angleton, TX; two grandsons, Terry Edward Parrish, Jr. and Emitt Daniels both of Angleton, TX; two sisters-in-law, Claudia Gertrude Logan of Canton and Louise Miller and her husband, Benny, of Asheville; a devoted niece, Jerrye Smith of Canton and a host of other relatives, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 24, 2007 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with Reverend Larry Allen officiating. Burial will follow in Gibsontown Cemetery. Mrs. Parrish will lie in state from Noon until 1:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church and at other times, the family will receive friends at her residence.
