Waynesville, Lola Marshall, 92, of the Bethel Community, passed away on Monday, August 10, 2015 at Memorial Mission Hospital. A native of Neshoba County, Mississippi, she had resided in Haywood County for the past 20 years and was the daughter of the late Virgil and Callie Mae Petty Marshall. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John George; a son, John Evans George; a sister, Ruby Marshall Hopcroft; and five brothers, Jesse, Willie, Clifton, Rupert and J.A. Marshall. Lola will be remembered for being one of the most selfless and caring people to all who knew her. She loved spending time outdoors, especially working n her yard. One of her favorite outings was visiting Dollywood with her family. Lola was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church and leaves a legacy of instilling strong Christian values to all who cherish her memory. Lola is survived by her beloved grandson, Daniel George, of Arden; a sister, Dolly Marshall Welch, of Waynesville; as well as many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 13, 2015 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend David Russell officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. Burial will be at Sandtown United Methodist Church Cemetery in Philadelphia, Mississippi.
