Lola Stimson

January 9, 1914 — March 18, 2004

Waynesville-Lola Sexton Stimson, age 90, died Thursday, March 18, 2004 at the Brian Center of Waynesville.

She was the daughter of the late Claude and Myrtle Potter Sexton. She was a native of Huntsville, Tennessee and was a former resident of St. Petersburg, Florida. She had resided in Haywood County since 1986.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Stimson, who died in 1984, by two brothers, Lawrence and Claude Sexton, and by a sister, Lora Tanner Patterson.

She attended Allen's Creek Baptist Church.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 21, 2004 at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park. The Reverend Chan Chandler will officiate.

Friends may call at their convenience on Sunday, until 2:00 p.m., prior to the services, at Wells Funeral Homes & Cremation Services of Waynesville.

Memorials may be made to the Glen Patterson Scholarship Fund, Carolina First Bank, 217 Branner Avenue, Waynesville, NC 28786, or to one's favorite charity.
