Lonnie Higgins, Sr.

Waynesville, Lonnie Frank Higgins Sr., 81, of Cannon Road, passed away on Wednesday, September 28, 2016. Lonnie was the son of the late Herbert and Cornelia King Higgins and was also preceded in death by a sister, Louise Reid. He proudly served in the US Army. Lonnie was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed farming. Lonnie is survived by daughters, Alice Genet and husband, Jerry, of Clyde and Jo Ann Partridge of Waynesville; a son, Lonnie Higgins of Waynesville; three brothers, Emmett Higgins of Waynesville and Kenneth and Russell Higgins, both of Murphy; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at Green Hill Cemetery with Reverend Charlie Creasman officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 10:45 a.m. prior to services at the Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville.
