Lora Holder

Asheville - Lora Elizabeth "Granny" Holder, age 87, of Druid Drive, died Monday, April 2, 2007, at St Joseph's Hospital. She was a native of Buncombe County and the daughter of the late Robert Lee and Mary Radford Littrell. She was also preceded in death by a son, DeWitt Warren; a grandson, Joseph Wyatt; four brothers, Johnny, LeRoy, W. R. Jr., and Lane Littrell; five sisters, Della Jenkins, Pauline Roof, Ina Belle James, Virginia Brantley, and Augusta Roof. She retired from Ice Service Stores as a store clerk with 45 years of service. She attended Grace United Methodist Church and was baptized two years ago. Lora participated in the Land of the Sky foster grandparent program and loved her flower garden. She is survived by a daughter, Shirley Owenby of Asheville; two brothers, Glen Littrell and Wiley Littrell and his wife, Ena, all of Leicester; four grandchildren, Dallas and Robert Owenby of Asheville; Rex D. Wyatt and his wife, Dee, of Rock Hill, SC, and Mary Jane Honeycutt of Marshall; and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday April 6, 2007, at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Robert L. James officiating. Burial will follow at Pisgah View Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. At other times, the family will be at 157 Druid Drive, Asheville.
