Loran Williams

Maggie Valley, Loran Oscar Williams, age 88, of Maggie Valley and Wilton Manors, Florida, passed away on Thursday, October 23, 2008 at his residence. A native of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, he was the son of the late Raymond A. and Marie Jung Williams. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ellen Mildred Williams, who died in 1988, and two brothers, Norman and Roy Williams. He was an avid golfer and especially enjoyed playing at Lake Junaluska Golf Course. He attended Barberville Baptist Church. He is survived by three sons, Warren Williams and his wife, Sandra, of Grayson, GA, Richard Williams and his wife, Sheila, of Coconut Creek, FL, and David Williams of Lake Worth, FL; one daughter, Carol Bennett and her husband, Michael, of Wilton Manors, FL; five grandchildren, Michelle Carroll, Timothy, Benjamin, Daniel, and Amy Williams; two great grandchildren, Timothy Williams, Jr. and Jordyn Williams; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 26, 2008 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Jack Holland officiating. Burial will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
