Lorema Warren

Candler- Lorema Vaughan Warren, age 87, passed away on Monday, March 9, 2015 at The Elizabeth House. A native of Greenville County, South Carolina, Lorema lived most of her life in Candler. She was a daughter of the late William Lewis and Minnie Evelena Sexton Vaughan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thurlow R. Warren; a brother, Cecil Vaughan; two sisters, Sarah Bishop and Edith Randall; and a great-grandson, Brandon Lee. Lorema was a very special lady who will be remembered as a hard worker who was unwavering in her commitment to her family. She provided for her family by sewing clothes for her children and raising a vegetable garden. She also enjoyed her flower garden. Lorema was a devoted wife, always steadfast and a helper to her husband, Thurlow. She attended Mountain of Hope Fellowship Church of God and her Christian faith sustained her throughout her life. Lorema always attended church with her family on Sundays and was also a Sunday school teacher. She is survived by two daughters, LaDatha Smith of Hendersonville, and Norma Case of Asheville; one son, Marvin Warren and his wife, Katrina, of Middleburg, Florida; one sister, Ruby Dorn of Greenville, South Carolina; one brother, William "Charles" Vaughan and his wife, Myra, of Cleveland, Tennessee; seven grandchildren; nine grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 14, 2015 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Andrew Russo and Reverend W.C. Vaughan officiating. Burial will follow at Piney Mountain United Methodist Cemetery in Candler. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
