Loren Jones, Jr.

Loren Jones, Jr., age 78, of 41 Morgan Cove Road, died Saturday, December 15, 2007, at his home. He was a native of Kingsport TN but lived most of his life in Buncombe County. He was the son of the late Loren Jones, Sr. and Virgie Stamey Jones and was preceded in death by 2 sons, Danny Jones in 1999 and Roger Dale Jones in 2000. He was employed by Champion International with 38 years of service, a member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church and a life member of the V.F.W. Post #891. He was an Army veteran and served two tours of duty in Korea. He is survived by a wife of 57 years, Mae Cope Jones of Candler; 2 sisters, Flora Wells of Candler and Peggy Hensley of Barnardsville; a brother, Roy Jones of Asheville; 3 grandsons, Jason Jones and his wife, Sharon, Chris Jones and Ryan Jones; 4 great granddaughters, Danny Loren Jones, Casey Lane Jones, Hallie Daniele Masy Jones and Spenser Ledford. No services are planned at this time.
