Loretta Gaddy

"1950 ~ 2018"

Canton - Loretta Smathers Gaddy 67, passed into the arms of Jesus her Savior on January 2, 2018 at her residence.

A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late George H. "Buddy" and Anna Belle Mathis Smathers. She was a member of Dutch Cove Baptist Church and loved her church family very much.

She is survived by her husband of 45 years, David Gaddy; two daughters, Anna Henderson and husband, Adam, and Dr. Aundria Lear and husband, Mark, all of Canton; one brother, George Leslie Smathers and wife, Betty, of Canton; three grandchildren, Haley, Holly, and Heath Henderson; and a special caregiver, Kathy Vance.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 5, 2018 at Dutch Cove Baptist Church with the Reverend Jason Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Morning Star Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at Wells Funeral Home in Canton.
