Loretta Wines

Canton – Loretta Reese Wines, age 88, of 2 North Ridge Drive died on Saturday, November 26, 2011, at her residence. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late John and Ella Gibson Reese. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers and sisters. Her beloved younger son, Robert, Jr. passed away on March 9, 2003. She assisted in the operation of the family business, Wines Plumbing Company for many years. She was a member of North Canton Baptist Church. She was a rabid bowler well into her eighties and within the past ten years, won the North Carolina Seniors Tournament for all bowlers over the age of fifty. In addition, she visited the Canton Senior Center for many years and especially enjoyed a daily lunch at DuVall's. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Robert Wines, Sr., of Canton, four children, Rodney Wines of Paris, France, Carolyn Carson of Canton, David Lutz of Brevard, and Kathy West; and her daughter-in-law, Susan Wines Bumgarner; her grandchildren, Nathan Wines and his wife, Heather, of Canton, Justin Wines of Canton, Jesse and Sarah Lutz of Brevard, and Amanda West; and a much loved great-grandson, Pete. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 30, 2011, in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Bruce Cayton officiating. Burial will follow at Old Thickety Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service. At other times, the family will be at the residence.
