Ann Lorraine Knotts (Faulk), age 68, otherwise known as Lori or Rainey, of Marshall, North Carolina passed away peacefully on Friday, May 21, 2021 at Haywood Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Waynesville, North Carolina.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William Vander Faulk, Jr. and Gladys Poe Faulk and husband, Robert "Birdman" Johnson.

Lorraine lived the first half of her life in Jacksonville, Florida where she was an amazing mother involved in every aspect of her children’s and family’s life.  She was the first graduating class of UNF’s advanced 4-year BSN degree in two years.  From there she started her career as a Chemo Nurse which led to an exciting career of travel nursing.  She moved to Marshall, North Carolina where she placed her roots.  She continued traveling  all over the United States and when she was not traveling, she was either taking care of family or renovating her home in the mountains.

Lorraine was a horse breaker, a poet, an artist, the neighborhood mother that everyone loved, cake decorator, lover of music and film, remodeler, lover of books, wife, nurse, dreamer, traveler, a safe haven for all who entered her home, but the most important role was mother.

Fly high our sweet mommy, you are free of pain and worry.  You know our love and you will be deeply missed.
