Lou Reed

Candler- Lou Wright Reed- age 91 went to be with the Lord Tuesday, December 20, 2005 at her residence after a brief illness. She was a native and life-long resident of Buncombe County and the daughter of the late Aaron Baxter and Connie Morgan Wright. She was preceded in death by her husband John Luther "Luke" Reed who died in 1978; a son, John Luther, Jr. in 1986; two brothers, D.E. and Carl Wright and an infant brother, Bryon; four sisters, Wilma W. Hyatt, Thelma W. Rutherford, Mildred W. Jackson and twin sister Sue W. Fletcher. She is survived by one son, James Baxter Reed of Candler and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Reed was a homemaker and loved taking care of her home and garden. She loved attending Sunday school and church services at her beloved Snow Hill Methodist Church of which she had been a member since the early 1950's. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 23, 2005 at Snow Hill United Methodist Church with the Reverend James B. Durham officiating. Burial will follow at Pisgah View Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Pallbearers will be Doug Wright, Bill Hinson, Willis Wright, Norburn Hyatt, Joe and James Ball. Memorials may be made to Snow Hill United Methodist Church, 84 Snow Hill Church Road, Candler, NC 28715. Wells Funeral Home of Canton is in charge of arrangements.
