Louise Franklin

Waynesville, Louise Fulbright Franklin, 81 of Waynesville, passed away on Saturday, September 10, 2011 at her residence. She was a native of Haywood County and a daughter of the late Hardy Talmadge and Polly Hicks Fulbright. She was retired from First Union Bank where she worked as a commercial loan officer for 37 years. She was a former member of the Waynesville Business & Professional Womans Club and a member of Francis Cove United Methodist Church. Louise loved to read and will be remembered for her kindness and friendship to so many. She was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Franklin and sisters, Mary Jo Fulbright Gibson, Anne Fulbright Mason, Nellie Fulbright and a brother, James R. Fulbright. Also an infant twin brother & sister, Hilliard & Hilda Fulbright preceded her in death. Surviving are three sisters, Aileen Fulbright Cathey and her husband, James W. of Waynesville; Carolyn Fulbright McElroy and her husband, Edgar of Clyde and Hazel Fulbright of Waynesville; one brother, Floyd Fulbright of Clyde. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 13, 2011 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home. The family will receive friends 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service. Reverend Kristopher Estep and Reverend Mark Golden will officiate. Burial will be in the Fulbright Family Cemetery at Lake Junaluska. Serving as pallbearers will be Danny McElroy, Barry and Robby Franklin, Jerry Hightower, Calvin Grasty, Dewayne West, John Mason, and Boyd Rathbone. Honorary pallbearers will be Tony and Allen Ruff, Tim Fulbright, Frank Fulbright, Ronnie Ammons, Danny James, Gary Haney and Hugh West. Memorials may be made to the Organ Fund of Barberville Baptist Church, 1441 Russ Avenue, Waynesville, NC 28786 or the Carillon Fund of the Francis Cove United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 843, Waynesville, NC 28786. The family will be at the home of a sister, Hazel Fulbright, 59 Keller Street, Waynesville, NC.
