Louise Herndon

"Loving Mother and Grandmother" Canton – Annie Louise Hutchinson Herndon, age 94, passed away on Wednesday, February 17, 2016, at Haywood Regional Medical Center. A native of Buncombe County, she was a daughter of the late Charles E. and Annie Culbertson Hutchinson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, E.D. Herndon, Jr., who died in 2004; granddaughter, Melody Louise Carpenter, who died in 1987; a brother; and three sisters. She was the oldest member of Sunny Point Baptist Church and a former member of Calvary Baptist Church. Louise loved to attend the Canton Senior Center, working in her rose garden, traveling and especially spending time with her family. She is survived by a daughter, Anita Eller and her husband, Jim, of Candler; one son, Phillip Herndon and his wife, Mary, of Canton; three grandchildren, Grant Carpenter, Rhonda Hinson, and Laura Blaylock; and five great-grandchildren, Sloan Carpenter, Savannah and Emily Blaylock, Miranda and Dylan Burris. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 21, 2016 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Shannon O'Riley and Reverend James Roberts officiating. Burial will follow at Sunny Point Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 3:00 p.m. prior to the service.
