Canton- Louise S. Baker Overman- age 83 went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, November 30, 2005 at Memorial Mission Hospital.<br><br>She was a native of Gaston County, NC but had lived most of her life in Haywood County. She was a daughter of the late Glen B. and Marie Anderson Baker and the wife of the late Thurman David Overman who died in 1962. Mrs. Overman was preceded in death by two brothers, R.V. "Bud" and Glenn "Corky" Baker and one sister, Pauline Baker Haney. She attended West Canton Baptist Church, loved to read and loved her family very much.<br><br>She is survived by one daughter, Rebecca Smith and her husband Roger of Brevard; two sons, David Lee Overman of Rosman and Michael Overman and his wife Betty of Asheville; one sister, Marie Pace of Canton; seven grandchildren, Amy McDuffie, Tony Smith, Jennifer Preuss, Jeanne Marie Overman, Jonathan Overman, Brad A. Trotter and Holly K. Trotter; five great-grandchildren, Lauryl, Emily and Seth McDuffie, Rohan Preuss, Olivia Smith, Riley and Talon Trotter and several nieces and nephews.<br><br>Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 3, 2005 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Roger Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Bon-A-Venture Cemetery on Old Clyde Road. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.<br><br>In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to West Canton Baptist Church Building Fund, 75 Lowe Street, Canton, NC 28716.<br>
