Waynesville - Marion Louise Walker Patrick, 96, passed away on Thursday, July 28, 2016 at her residence. Louise was born in Norfolk, Virginia and formerly resided in Winter Park, Florida before moving to Waynesville. She was the daughter of the late Claude Deloache and Marion Avery Degge Walker and was preceded in death by her husband, Wendell Patrick and a son, Claude Patrick. Louise was a business entrepreneur, who attended Florida State College for Women on a piano and music scholarship and later earned a degree in Landscape Design from Cornell University. She loved to garden and was a member of the Winter Park Garden Club. She was also a member of the Junior League of Winter Park, Florida, member of Daughters of American Revolution, member of the Daughters of the King and also a member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy. Louise was active in many of the churches she attended, but she was a member of St. Peters Anglican Church in Waynesville. Louise is survived by two daughters, Avery Ann Louise Patrick and Sara Marion Patrick, both of Waynesville; a son, John Wendell Patrick, II and his wife, Lynne, also of Waynesville; five grandchildren, Sara Warren-Hill (Wesley), Luke Alexander Warren, John Wendell Patrick III (Amy), Ashley Drewnowski and Rebecca Janke (Jim); and six great-grandchildren, Lucy, Simon and Oliver Hill, Walker and William Patrick and Emily Drewnowski. All the family's love and thanks to Karenza Grant, loving friend and Companion, and to Joyce Burns, Janet Messer and Patricia Birchfield, loving and kind caregivers and close family friends. A celebration of life service will be held at 12:00 Noon on Thursday, August 4, 2016 at Grace in the Mountains Church with Reverend Jim Dannals officiating.
