Canton - Louise “Pud” Banks Sellers, 77, passed away on Thursday, October 1, 2020 at Haywood Regional Medical Center.
A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Martha Warner Banks. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy Banks and a special nephew, Bill Worley Jr. Louise was a graduate from Mars Hill College with a degree in education. She taught at Pennsylvania Avenue Elementary and Bethel Middle School and touched the lives of many students during her 25 years of service. Louise will always be remembered for her sense of humor and contagious laugh. She was also an avid quilter and painter and enjoyed sharing her crafts with family and friends. Louise’s greatest love was being with her family and watching her grandchildren walk through the door. She was a member of Morning Star United Methodist Church where she served others by providing meals with a loving and caring spirit.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Henry Jack Sellers; three sons, Carlton “Cooter” Sellers (Lisa) of Canton, Mark “Poss” Sellers (Candie) of Clyde, and Gary “Otis” Sellers of Cruso; two sisters; Betty Jean Hampton, of Clyde and Audrey Worley of Canton, and a brother in law; Bill Worley Sr. of Clyde; three grandchildren; Will Sellers (Rachel), Lauren Sutton (Dylan), Bailey McCurry (Kaleb); one great-grandchild, Madeline Sellers; and many beloved nieces and nephews and extended family and friends.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 8, 2020 at New Cruso Cemetery with the Reverend Jack W. Collins and Reverend Christopher Willett officiating.
Due to Covid-19 masks and social distancing will be observed.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Haywood County Schools Foundation, Louise Sellers Memorial Scholarship Fund, 1230 North Main Street, Waynesville, NC 28786.
