Louise Shuler

December 16, 1943 — June 14, 2011

Clyde, Louise Jane Keener Shuler, age 67, passed away on Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at her residence. A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Robert Joseph and Lillie Martha Strickland Keener. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her grandparents, Marion and Leona Allison Keener and George and Rebecca Strickland; four sisters, Cora Dills, Ruth McMahan, Estlee Melton, and Cecil McMahan; two brothers, Ralph and Glenn "Shot" Keener; and three infant siblings, Boyd, Charles and Nova. She was dining room supervisor at Lake Junaluska's Lambuth Inn. Louise enjoyed the outdoors especially gardening. She was devoted to her Christian walk with God, her home, and was extremely dedicated to her work as dining room supervisor. Above all, Louise adored her family and was a wonderful mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, sister, and aunt. She is survived by one son, Scotty Robert Shuler and his wife, Gail, of Enka; one daughter, Charlene Shuler Sheehan and her husband, Reverend Maurice Sheehan of Waynesville; a sister, Evelyn Cutshaw, of Waynesville; one brother, Carl Keener and his wife, Kathy, of Clyde; six grandchildren, Paige Worley and her husband, Mark, Cori Jenkins and her husband, Justin, Emily Houston and her husband, Ryan, Kelsey Shuler, and Sarah and Daniel Sheehan; two great grandchildren, Andersen Houston and Grant Worley and baby girl Jenkins due in October; as well as many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 17, 2011 at Calvary Road Baptist Church with Reverend John Swanger, III officiating. Burial will follow at Poplar Gap Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Ryan Houston, Robert, David, and Keith Cutshaw, Brad Smith, Caleb and Richard McMahan, Billy Melton, and Freddie Keener. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville. Scott and Charlene want to thank everyone for their special place in their Mother's life. She loved each and everyone and she will surely be missed.
