Waynesville, Louise Shuler Brown, age 78, of 32 Kentucky Avenue, died Friday, May 22, 2009 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. Louise was a native of Jackson County, and the daughter of the late Cecil and Dorothy Parker Shuler. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ned H. Brown who died in 1980. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist Faith. She especially enjoyed gardening and loved flowers. Louise was known for her loving spirit and always welcomed people into her life where most people affectionately knew her as "Granny Brown." She is survived by one son, Cecil Brown, and his wife, Janice, of Waynesville; two daughters, Trish Allison, and her husband, Gary and Becky Trantham, and her husband, Clinton, all of Waynesville; one brother, David Shuler, and his wife, Loretha, of Waynesville; six grandchildren, Todd Trantham, and his wife, Melissa, Tyler Trantham, and his wife, Rachel, Cecil Brown, and his wife, Jennifer, Chad Brown, and his wife, Stacy and Wesley and Amy Allison all of Waynesville and two great grandchildren, Eli Trantham and Jace Brown. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Monday, May 25, 2009 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Ricky Mason officiating. Burial will follow in Garrett Hillcrest Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons and Travis Young. The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Sunday, May 24, 2009 at the funeral home and at other times at the home of her son, Cecil Brown. Memorials may be made to Haywood Regional Medical Center Hospice, 560 Leroy George Drive Clyde, NC 28721 or Haywood County Chapter Lodge 16 of the Faternal Order of Police.
