Lt. Roberson

Canton, Lt. Michael Lee Roberson, age 53, of Sharptown Road, died Saturday, January 19, 2008, at Haywood Regional Medical Center. He was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County and a son of Shirley Wilson Roberson of Canton and the late Kenneth Roberson. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Troy and Louise Wilson. After 19 years of service, Michael retired from the Town of Canton and was a member of West Canton Baptist Church. He was Lieutenant with the Center Pigeon Fire Department for 21 years and was a member of the Haywood County Rescue Squad. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Sheila Whitaker Roberson, and one brother, Billy Ray Lockman of Salisbury, NC. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 24, 2008 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Joe Stedman and Reverend George Holley officiating. Burial will follow in Parker Cemetery in the Crabtree community. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.
