Lucas Christopher

"In Loving Memory" Leicester – Lucas Cain Christopher, age 19, passed away on Saturday, October 19, 2013. A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, he was a son of Vickie Lyn Woodard of Leicester and Jerry Dale Christopher, Jr. of Newton, NC. Lucas was a 2012 graduate of West Henderson High School and was currently a student at AB Technical Community College. He loved the outdoors especially hunting and fishing. Lucas was a strong athlete and played numerous sports including basketball, baseball, football and soccer. He enjoyed his aquarium and loved taking care of his fish. Lucas loved his dog "Rambo", family, and playing the guitar. In addition to his parents, he is survived by a sister, Haley Sue Christopher of Charlotte; maternal grandparents, Joseph Woody and his wife, Frankie, and Susie Rogers and her husband, Wayne; paternal grandmother, Carolyn Boone and her husband, Richard; two uncles, Matthew Woody and his wife Vicky and Scott Hudson; an aunt, Gidget Kyle and her husband, Scott; a special friend whom he loved, Lauren Norris; and a host of special friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 23, 2013 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral with the Reverend Neal Rowland officiating. Burial will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
