LUCILE NEWSON

Waynesville, NC-Lucile Newsom, age 97, of Waynesville and Orlando, Florida died Saturday, November 23, 2002 at Haywood Regional Medical Center, Clyde, NC.

A native of LaGrange, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Charles Ridley and Mary Emma Williams Darden. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Grover Newsom, Sr. in 1990. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of LaGrange, Georgia.

She is survived by a son, William G. Newsom, Jr. of Waynesville, NC; a daughter, Mary Margaret Norman, of Rapid City, SD; a brother, Harold Darden, of Athens, GA; five grandchildren, Gail N. Riddle of Blaine, WA, Rebecca N. Marty of Denver, CO, Steve Newsom of Orlando, FL, Dwayne Norman of Lexington, KY, Chris Norman, of Rapid City, SD; six great-grandchildren, Jennifer R. Cummins of Blaine, WA, Jordan Riddle of Blaine, WA, Philip Norman of Rapid City, SD, Sean Norman of Denver, CO, Julianne Norman of Lexington, KY, and Daniel Norman of Lexington, KY.

Funeral services will be held in Orlando, Florida at a later date. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery.
