Lucille Rogers

Candler - Lucille Allman Rogers, age 70, of 11 Stamey Road died Tuesday, March 22, 2005 at her home. She was a native of Madison County and the daughter of the late Wilburn and Pansy McGalliard Allman. She was preceded in death by a step-daughter, Vicky Morgan. She retired in 1984 from Palmer Instrument and was a former employee of Asheville Plastics and J & S Cafeteria. She was a member of Pole Creek Baptist Church. In addition to her husband of 34 years, Thomas Gene Rogers, she is survived by two step-daughters, Kathy Silver and her husband, John of Campobello, SC and Sherry Burress and her husband, Tim of Canton; a step-son, Tony Rogers and his wife, Sheila of Candler; three sisters, Betty Edwards of Weaverville, Mattie Jarvis of Mars Hill and Peggy Brooks of VT; two brothers, J. B. Allman of Asheville and Donald Allman of VT; 13 grandchildren, one great-grandson and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 26, 2005 at Pole Creek Baptist Church with the Reverend Dennis Thurman officiating. Burial will follow at Pole Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. Friday at the Wells Funeral Homes & Cremation Services of Canton. Pallbearers will be Bobby Norton, Jack Allman, Jr., Sabe, Travis and Cody Sutton and Tom Lance. Memorials may be made to Mountain Area Hospice, P. O. Box 25338, Asheville, NC 28813.
