Lucille Heron

"Very Special Lady" Canton – Alice Lucille Dills Inman Heron, 85, passed away April 11, 2017 at her residence in the East Fork community. A native of Jackson County, she was a daughter of the late Herbert Warren and Laura Ann Gibson Dills. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Edward Rene Inman and her second husband, James Bernard "Jim" Heron. Lucille was a special lady who loved everyone, especially her family. She was an excellent cook who enjoyed sharing her meals with her friends and family. Lucille had a green thumb and grew a beautiful, colorful flower garden each year. She is survived by two daughters, Mildred Ann Rice of Candler and Vera Jean Caldwell (David Burgess) of Waynesville; one son, Dale H. Inman (Janice) of Canton; two sisters, Flora Dills Jordan and Linda Hightower Evans (Bob), all of Waynesville; five brothers, David Hightower (Kathey), Larry Hightower (Norma), Troy Dills (Joann), Roy Dills (Brenda), and Charles Dills (Darlene); eight grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Sandra Morgan. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 14, 2017 at Sunburst Cemetery with the Reverend Gary Putnam officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:30 p.m. prior to the service at Wells Funeral Home of Canton.
