Waynesville, Lucille Creasman Lankford, age 84, passed away on Monday, July 18, 2011 at her home. A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late William R. and Channie McGaha Mintz. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her previous husband of 35 years, Hubert D. Creasman and a brother, Leroy Mintz. She was a member of the Hazelwood Church of God where she previously served as choir director. Her love of music was passed down to her children and grandchildren. "Mother was a light that will shine on in the hearts of her family and all who knew her." She is survived by her husband of 17 years, Roy L. Lankford; three daughters, Radie Ball and her husband, Ottis, of Rockwood, Tennessee, Rita Sutton of Canton, and Reneé Wheeler of Knoxville, Tennessee; stepchildren, Paul Langford and his wife, Shirley, of England, Rachelle Wood and her husband, Danny, of the Bethel Community, Carolyn Lankford, of Florida and Jay Davis and her husband, Gary, of Nashville, Tennessee; two sisters, Frances Edwards of Canton and Helen Holland, of Newport News, Virginia; one brother, Paul R. Mintz, of Cleveland, Tennessee; her grandchildren, Reggie and Diane Ball, Rhonda and Nelson Bennett, Rodney and Anna Sutton, Lisa Wheeler, Letisha and Dustin Wilds, and Jamie and Shandi Wheeler; her great grandchildren, Daniel Ball, Ashley Sutton, Sydney Bennett, Elijah, Emma, and Ethan Wilds and Kameron and Ava Wheeler; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville on Friday, July 22, 2011. The funeral will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Reverend Ottis Ball and Reverend R.J. Wheeler officiating. Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 23, 2011 at Green Hill Cemetery.
