Waynesville, Lucille Eavenson Rogers, age 99, passed away on Saturday, November 22, 2014 at her residence. A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of Harper and Addie Arrington Eavenson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Farmer Rogers, who passed away in 1972; a son, Doyle Rogers, three sisters, Emma Bialek, Elsie Davis, Geneva Melton and three brothers, Lester, Jim and Tom Eavenson. Lucille enjoyed making split and pine needle baskets and tying flies. She was a member of Allen's Creek Baptist Church. Lucille is survived by three daughters, Judy Allison (Raymond) of Etowah, NC, Barbara Jones (Orville) of Bladenboro, NC and Betty Rogers of Asheville, NC; a son, Jim Rogers (Phyllis) of Waynesville; two sisters, Susie Pressley and Jean Gibson (Vincent); a daughter in-law, Pat Rogers seven grandchildren, Dean, Kristi, Ronald and Rodney Rogers, Rafe, Ryan and Rick Allison; nine great-grandchildren and a special friend, Lois Jones. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 28, 2014 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Pastor Rafe Allison officiating. Burial will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
