Lucille Smith

Lucille Worley Smith, age 77, passed away on Thursday, June 16, 2011 at Canton Christian Convalescent Center. A native of Buncombe County, she was a daughter of the late Howard Estes and Ruby Lee King Worley. She graduated from Leicester High School in 1952 and was a member of High Street Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Robert W. Smith; one son, Roger Alan Smith and his wife, Belinda Gail, of Canton; two sisters, Alma Jean Hayes and Judy Jinks both of Leicester; four grandchildren, Brandon Alan, Beverly Britney, Taylor Jordan, and Sarah Elizabeth Smith; a great-granddaughter, Vayda Gaddy; and one dog, China. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 19, 2011 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Christopher Willett officiating. Entombment will follow at The Horizon at Crawford Ray Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Saturday evening at the funeral home.
