Lucille Sutton

Lucille Noland Sutton, age 89, of Sutton Branch Road, passed away on Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at her residence. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Taylor and Bennie Mae Hill Noland. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Weldon Rufus Sutton, who died in 2000; one sister, Pauline Rogers; and a brother, Quinton Noland. Lucille enjoyed making baskets and was known for her green thumb when it came to raising plants. Lucille loved attending Church and was an avid reader. She was a member of Rock Spring Baptist Church. She is survived by two sons, Alex and Larry Sutton; two sisters, Lottie Hall and Thomasine Howell, all of Clyde; four grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 20, 2011 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Charlie Simpson and Reverend Alan Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Upper Crabtree Community Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Cody Fletcher, Nolan, Mike, and Ryan Sutton, Noland Hall, and Jorge Curé. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2:00 p.m. prior to services at the funeral home.
