Lucille Wood

"Loving Mother, Grandmother, & Great-grandmother" Waynesville, Mary Lucille Plemmons Wood, age 99, passed away Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at Silver Bluff Nursing Home. A native of Haywood County, she was a daughter of the late Bill and Martha Mull Plemmons. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Wood, who died in 1993; a daughter, Betty Sue Higgins, and a son, Charles Wood. Lucille was a member of Rocky Branch Baptist Church and loved to garden in years past. She enjoyed being home. She is survived by three sons, James Wood and his wife, Jean, of Waynesville, Gene Wood and his wife, Linda, of Canton, and Roger Wood and his wife, Kathy, of Waynesville; one sister, Althea Smith of Saunook; one brother, Doyle Plemmons of Waynesville; ten grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 6, 2015 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Charles Creasman officiating. Burial will follow at Rocky Branch Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service
