Lucinda Maxwell

Waynesville, Lucinda Elvira Doering Maxwell, age 98, of the Hazelwood community, died Saturday, October 25, 2008 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. She was a native of South Dakota and had lived in Santa Barbara, CA prior to living in Haywood County for 50 years. She was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Doering and was the wife of Paul Scott Maxwell who died in 1969. Three brothers and one sister also preceded her in death. Mrs. Maxwell was a member of Hazelwood Baptist Church where she served on the ladies of the church food group and was an active member of the home demonstration club. Mrs. Maxwell enjoyed attending the daily outings with the Nutritional Center at the armory for many years. She is survived by two sons, Duane and Donald Honomichl, both of California, two daughters, Marilyn Jarisch of Lake Junaluska and Dolores Milner of Florida, 11 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 1, 2008 at Green Hill Cemetery with Reverend Tim Lolley officiating.
