Lucinda Taylor

Candler - Lucinda Mason Taylor, age 99, passed away on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at Pisgah Manor Nursing Home. Our loving family matriarch was born on September 10, 1915. Her work in this life came to a close on Wednesday, September 9, 2015, only hours before her centennial birthday. A native of Aberdeen, WA, she was the daughter of the late Lude and Bonnie Jackson Mason. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Taylor, and one son, James Taylor. To "Grandma Cindy," nothing was more important than her family, just as she was to each and every one of them. Lucinda is survived by two daughters, Laoda Davis of Candler and Sonja Rutherford and her husband, Thomas, of Spotsylvania, VA; a son, John Taylor and his wife, Linda, of Candler; eleven grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 11, 2015 at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery in Candler with Reverend Eric Hill officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Eliada Home for Children, P. O. Box 1708, Asheville, NC 28816, or Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery Maintenance Fund, c/o Ray Pressley, 2379 Smokey Park Hwy, Candler, NC 28715.
