Lucy Eller

Waynesville, Lucy Ruth Bedingfield Eller, age 89, of Lakemont, Georgia and Waynesville, NC, left her earthly home to join her Lord and loved ones in her heavenly home on October 16, 2008. She was born in Rabun County, GA on April 24, 1919 and was the daughter of the late Rosch C. and Estella Philyaw Bedingfield. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, C.J. Eller, who died in 1993. She lived most of her life in Rabun County, GA and spent the last twelve years living in Waynesville, NC with her daughter, Carolyn Perry. She was a retired schoolteacher having taught Home Economics in Scriven, GA and Elementary Education in Rabun County, GA. She was also a homemaker, loving mother, and grandmother. She was of the Methodist faith and a member of Tallulah Falls United Methodist Church. She was also a member of Post 220 American Legion Auxiliary and the Eastern Star. Lucy Ruth is survived by two daughters, Carolyn Eller Perry of Waynesville, NC and Celia Jane Eller Hoffman and husband, Terry, of Peachtree City, GA; five grandchildren, Dawn Anna Perry and Adam Perry, and Shawn, Scott, and Nichlos Hoffman; and one great granddaughter, Leanna Perry. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 18, 2008 at Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville, NC. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, October 20, 2008 at Beck's Funeral Home in Clayton, GA with Reverend James Turpin officiating. The family will receive friends 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home and interment will be at Rabun Memorial Park.
