Maggie Valley-Lucy Willis Hannah, age 84, of 119 Cross Creek Drive, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 14, 2006 at her residence. A native of Macon County, Lucy had lived most of her life in Haywood County and was the daughter of the late William L. and Irene Tallent Willis. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Reverend Howard Willis of Franklin, and two sisters, Jessie Enloe of Hayesville and Gertrude Poindexter of Franklin. Lucy was employed by Wellco and later worked as a cook at Stuckey's in Maggie Valley until her retirement. Lucy was a member of First Baptist Church of Maggie Valley, formerly Olivet Baptist Church. She is survived by two daughters, Viola Hannah Ferguson of Waynesville and Joyce Ann Trantham and her husband, Carroll, of Clyde; three sons, Richard Luther Hannah and his wife, Lydia, of Goshen, IN, Roger Dale Hannah and his wife, Letha, of Waynesville, and Gary Hannah and his wife, Patricia, of Clyde; one sister, Willa Mae McKinnish, of Stanley, NC; one brother, Garland Willis, of Franklin; nine grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 16, 2006 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Paul Carden officiating. Burial will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. on Friday evening at the funeral home, and at other times, at the residence on 119 Cross Creek Drive, Maggie Valley. Serving as pallbearers will be Jeff Ferguson, Bill Fricks, Michael Hannah, William Ewart, Darryl Hannah, and Robbie Inman. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Maggie Valley Fire Department, 2901 Soco Road, Maggie Valley, NC 28751.
